A search on the web suggests that there are a growing number of professional Associations and Organisations which are dedicated to the promotion of veterinary practice management.

They encourage an interest in the wide range of administrative, management and business strategy skills which are becoming so important for individuals and practices offering veterinary services throughout the world.

Some restrict their membership to specific groups whilst others recognise the benefits of including clinicians, managers, reception and administrative staff as well as professionals from other disciplines including accountants, lawyers and those with marketing, training and sales backgrounds and others involved in professional and statutory regulatory matters.

All the organisations offer their members a forum for debate, discussion and learning. Some publish journals, newsletters and other 'hard-copy' and 'on-line' publications and many of them arrange regular meetings and conferences where their members can attend presentations by national and international speakers on veterinary practice management topics.

Many of their meetings also incorporate commercial exhibitions which enable the suppliers of pharmaceutical products and a wide range of diagnostic, surgical and other instruments and equipment together with veterinary and business software and management tools, to promote their wares.
